Extra-dimensional Beings and Human Metamorphosis

Extra-Dimensional beings have been on my mind for a while now. Before you get thrown off by my strange title, I’ll attempt to put my thoughts on the matter into words. For centuries, man has pondered over the existence of “ghosts,” or “the afterlife.” With so many stories of encounters with other beings, there just must be at least some truth to it. Well, here’s my two cents on the matter. If you really think about it though, this theory can explain a lot of other things as well. [Image source.]

What are Extra-Dimensional Beings Anyway?

Just as “extra-terrestrial” means something that is not from Earth, “extra-dimensional” would refer to something that is not of our dimension. To explain it better, let’s first understand what a dimension is. 

Imagine a “dimension” as a way of plotting your exact location in the universe, like coordinates on a map. We live in 4 dimensions: 3 dimensions of space, and 1 of time.

Our three spatial dimensions: Length, Width, Height.

Let’s say you make an arrangement to meet with your friend. You’ll meet on Sunset Road (1 co-ordinate), block 57 (2 co-ordinates), on the 3rd floor, (3 co-ordinates.) To tell your friend where exactly to meet, you plotted a course along length, width, and height. But, we still need a fourth coordinate. Time. Unless you tell your friend when you want to meet, chances are that you will never meet him. Right? Therefore, we need all four coordinates to understand exactly where something is located.

Before we can move on to extra-dimensional beings, let’s imagine beings in a dimension lower than our own.

Meet Two-Dimensional Dennis

Imagine there is a being that lives in less dimensions than us. Let’s say just two: length and width. (I’m not sure that’s even possible to exist without time, but for the sake of the example, let’s imagine that anyway.)

Hello, 2D Dennis

 Let’s imagine there is a 2-Dimensional being living on your desk. We’ll call him 2D Dennis. 2D Dennis can go forward and backward, side to side. He cannot go up or down, nor even comprehend such a world above or below him. If I were to come from above and put my finger in his path, he would have absolutely no way of pre-empting such a move as he is incapable of looking “up.” To him it would seem like this finger in his path were something unexplainable… supernatural… divine!

The same way I put my finger in his path, I can also remove it, and again, he will have no clue where it went or from whence it came. Because he cannot look “up.”

The "Up" that we can't see

From the explanation above, just a simple movement on our behalf could mean something supernatural for little 2D Dennis. Now, imagine that there is an “up” that we can’t see.

As mentioned earlier, we live in 3 dimensions of space and 1 of time. We have 100% control over our spatial dimensions. We can move forward, backward, and up and down at will. However, we have no access to Time. In the words of Dr. Neil Tyson, “We are all prisoners of the present, forever transitioning from our own past into an unknown future.”

Remember how easily we were able to interact with Mr. 2-D without him even knowing who we were or how we got there? What if there was a being that poke a finger into the path of time as easily as we put our finger in the path of 2D Dennis? (Think Interstellar.)

The Extra-Dimensional Beings

If there were beings in a “higher” dimension than us, not only would they be able to enter in and out of our realm at will, we would have zero ability to even begin to perceive their existence.

And again, let’s say they have the ability to move about through time as easily as we move about through space – now that would be a being of unfathomable power. Because they would know the future.

 Pretty sure 2-D Dennis thinks we are beings of unfathomable power as well.

The Human Metamorphosis

The idea of extra-dimensional beings could give explanation to anything from angels, to demons, to people accidentally stepping into time warps. But how about the “ghosts” that resemble our loved ones who have passed away?

This is something that just came to me the other night, so I’m sure there are plenty of holes in this theory. But--- I’m going to share it anyway.

What if life as we know it is just the beginning of life, and death is not the end at all. It is merely a metamorphosis, whereby we break out of the cocoon of our physical body, and our spirit/soul/whatever emerges as a higher-dimensional being, to join the world of which we know not of.

This is not to say that everything in the higher dimension is an ex-human. Just as a butterfly comes from a caterpillar, but not everything that flies is an ex-caterpillar.

So… in summary: 

• There maybe beings that live in a dimension higher than us.
• We may join that dimension when our physical body dies.
• Many other beings also live in that dimension, that were likely never part of ours.
